I'm making efforts to place the heat into the building and to create a very efficient burn. The brick chamber is covered with at least 4" of white pumice for insulation.
My hope is that the firebrick chamber with retain it's heat, creating a cleaner burn. Saving the heat for the cob bench and building, rather than the earth below. Of course it will still get hot around the stove, but it won't suck the heat out.
